Wizzard Marine’s racing engine programme is built on decades of experience in competitive marine racing and engine development.

Having been involved in the sport since its early days in South Africa, we began developing racing engines with a simple objective: to build better-performing, more reliable engines capable of competing at the highest level. Over the years, that process has evolved through experience, competition and continual development, with our engines achieving victories across all major titles and disciplines within the sport.

Today, our racing engines continue to be developed with the same approach, combining practical racing experience with detailed engine development and a constant focus on improving performance, reliability and consistency.

A Longstanding Partnership

One of our strongest partnerships is with Eben de Bod, a World Champion and one of the most decorated and accomplished pilots in the sport.

Eben has won the last four consecutive overall Trans Agulhas titles, with Wizzard Marine engines, a significant achievement in one of the most demanding inflatable boat racing events in the world.

The Trans Agulhas places exceptional demands on both pilot and equipment. High-speed racing, long-distance stages and challenging offshore conditions require an engine that can deliver performance while maintaining the reliability needed to compete consistently over the full event.

Our relationship with Eben is based on continuous development and close collaboration. Each engine is developed around his individual requirements, riding style and the conditions in which he competes. His experience and feedback from the water are an integral part of the development process, allowing us to refine the engine and extract further performance.

Development never stops. We continue to work together to improve the package, increase performance and explore the limits of what can be achieved.

New Race Engine Builds & Blueprinting: Assembling, blueprinting, and prepping brand-new race motors built strictly to class specifications. Optimizing clearances, port timing, and carburation for maximum power output and reliability under extreme conditions.
Race Engine Tuning & Maintenance: Precision tuning for existing 40hp–50hp race outboards (including Tohatsu, Yamaha, and Mariner setups). We handle carb jetting, timing lockouts, head mods, reed replacement, and post-race teardown inspections.
Custom Racing Propellers: Pitch adjustments, cupping, polishing, and custom shaping to match your hull weight, driver/co-pilot setup, water conditions, and RPM targets.
